Course Description: This course is designed to give an overview of the Qurʾan, including its history, contents, and uses in the Islamic religion from a position that seeks to accurately understand Islamic viewpoints while also critically interacting with them. The history, contents, and Christian uses of the Bible will serve as a mainly implicit backdrop that will be brought into the discussion in order to clarify understanding for Christian students. Taken as a whole, the material covered in this course will serve as a basis for understanding Muslim claims for the Qurʾan’s divine nature and authority so as to inform personal discussions and Christian ministry.
Additional Information: Lectures from this course session will be hosted live from June 28 – July 3, 2021 for the Summer 2021 term.
